she scribbled "help me" on her bedroom wall with black ink
in the hope that you would read it
but the rain seeped through the cracks in the windows
to flood her cry's.
and i decay.
and i decay.
a black eye to match your mood
when your bad day becomes her nightmare.
there's tape over her mouth and dried blood on her teeth
with a grey cloud cast over her
she wont fade quick enough for you.
a jail brake in the heart of the night
behind the power of horses
she's free.
she breathes.
she lives.
warmth of the sun on her skin
she sings aloud to the tune in her head
flipping through her picture book of memories
she burns holes into your eyes
and watches the pain go up in smoke.
she turns off the light in the back of her mind,
where you lived for so long.
lights out!
empty pockets
